Gaetano's Pizzeria & Creamery -- Jenks, Oklahoma
Lance and I arrived at Gaetano's close to 7pm. This adventure led us to the far south side of Jenks. We read that Gaetano's has great pizza, so naturally we had to try it out. We walked in and waited to be seated. Surprisingly, the lady behind the counter asked us to please choose from the menu on the wall, order and to seat ourselves. I looked for a beer tap and found none. However, there are cold bottles of beer on the counter which have a generic selection. There are no IPA's so I selected a Boulevard Wheat. We were asked to pay for the meal before we were served.
Lance and I sat down and checked out the décor. Interestingly, Gaetano's has a baseball theme, There is nothing having to do with the ambiance of a fine Italian experience. The chairs are are nice … an individual with a flair for design would be most helpful.
While we were waiting for the pizza we noticed there are games at each table. This was really nice. Lance asked me the questions that are on the game cards and we had fun.
The pizza was served within 15 minutes. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken. I thought to myself, “how could pizza be really good when it is prepared that quickly?” Especially after we ordered the hand tossed crust. Being completely prepared for a disappointment … I bit into the pizza and … I really don't have words; the taste is simply amazing! Lance and I devoured the entire pizza and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza was good to the last bite. Pizza crust is generally an item I leave behind or feed to the birds … however the crust was the best I have had and I enjoy eating every bit of the crust.
Gaetano's Pizzeria & Creamery is the place to go when you want a world class pizza in a hurry.

Denny's Fort Smith, Arkansas
Olive Garden -- Fort Smith, Arkansas
Going to Olive Garden in Fort Smith is always enjoyable. Sometimes at restaurants the unexpected happens. February 13, My mom dad and I went to celebrate my birthday.
We waited over an hour. There were people packed in the hallway waiting to be seated.

Large Crowd
Fortunately, during the wait, the bartender was fabulous and kept us fully stocked with adult beverages.

Great bartender

We had fun while we waited
Finally it was our turn to eat, what we were looking forward to!
While people were packed in the hallway waiting, many tables were empty throughout the restaurant.

Empty tables to the left and right
We finally got seated and the waiter who was an exchange student from Gabon, Africa was very friendly. Once again I had to ask for olive oil for the bread sticks. A no brainer that one should have olive oil at an Italian restaurant.
Great tasting Olive oil at the Olive Garden
We ordered the fried calamari which we always enjoy quite a bit. It turned out to be overcooked and chewy. The breading was very flavorful ... but the chewiness left us unsatisfied.

I ordered the Baked Parmesan Shrimp and received salmon.

The salmon turned out to be cooked to perfection and I enjoyed it a lot. However, I would have preferred to get the Baked Parmesan Shrimp I ordered. My parents ordered shrimp scampi and it was blah ... no flavor. Absolutely awful experience. Obviously needs new management. Olive Garden is never this bad at other locations.
I'm looking forward to the future. I am sure Darden Restaurants will correct the current challenges at this location.
